Bech-Hansen & Studsgaard changes its name to "BHS Logistics"

The new name – BHS Logistics – signifies that the Bornholm-based company has grown from operating as a haulier on the roads of Denmark to also being a provider of specialised European logistic solutions.

“This is no revolutionary move. The transition has been clearly under way for a long time now, as we have been rapidly developing over the past five to ten years,” states Morten Studsgaard, CEO, explaining:

“This is something we want to put on record. We want to emphasise that our core business is no longer transporting goods and parcels from point A to B in Denmark, but that we also provide specialised logistics solutions in areas such as pharmaceuticals as well as international transports. Plainly speaking, our toolbox has grown a little: we’ve transitioned from simple transport to solution-based transport.”

Morten Studsgaard emphasises that BHS Logistics currently have cooperation with more than 20 agents spread throughout Europe and that the company is an active partner in three strong international networks.

“Nothing is being changed except our name. We will still be travelling the roads of Denmark and we will still be transporting products and goods from Aakirkeby to Slagelse within Denmark,” Morten Studsgaard concludes.

New pharma customers for H.Essers with the acquisition of German Kammann Thermologistik

Friday August 14th, H.Essers signed the acquisition of the German logistics service provider Kammann.

Kammann Transporte was founded in 1999 by Jens Olivier Kammann and performed originally only refrigerated transport. Since 2002, the company started to focus on pharma transports which led to the foundation of Kammann Thermologistik in 2009 by Jens Olivier Kammann and Wolfgang Waldow.

For H.Essers this acquisition is strategic in order to further enhance its activities in the pharma-logistics. With this acquisition, they can further develop our position in the important region of Frankfurt.

Business managers Jens Olivier Kammann and Wolfgang Waldow will also remain active after the acquisition.

In 2014 the company realized a turnover of € 6 mio.

PLAN sets the standards

First asset based European transport network for pharma

Next week April 24, logistics & transports providers Bech-Hansen & Studsgaard A/S, Nolan Transport and H.Essers will launch their PLAN at Logipharma Geneva – the world's largest end-to-end supply chain management conference for the life science industry.

PLAN is a cooperation between the three private owned transport companies all experienced & specialized in pharma transports.

PLAN finds its origin in the need for an asset based, Pan - European pharma logistics network. The partners felt a need in the market for an initiative that sets new quality standards.

PLAN operates across Europe and the CIS countries with their own dedicated pharma fleet of more than 450 trucks, so that direct control, real time information on position and temperature of every single order is guaranteed. These data are pro-active monitored by a 24/7 manned control tower. Next to the transport, PLAN operates with a network of own cross docks in Europe.

PLAN offers solutions for both LTL and FTL orders, all at the same quality standards and in a cost efficient way.

The three founding partners have described all working standards into a mutual agreed Service Level Agreement and Technical Standard. This results in a superior quality and absolute reliability. In their service to the customers, PLAN aims for cost effective solutions: consolidation, optimization of filling degree, dynamic routing.

The target is to expand the network by the end of 2014 with 6 to 8 new partners on strategic locations across Europe and CIS countries.
